In celebration of the National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month Celebration, the DSWD Field Office (FO) MIMAROPA launches an exhibition on the culture, traditions, and customs of indigenous tribes in the region.
Aligned with the celebration theme “Ang Paglalakbay ng mga Katutubong Mamamayan para sa Tunay na Pagkilala, Paggalang, at Sariling Pamamahala”, the exhibition features the effort of the agency’s programs, projects and services; partner stakeholders; private sector, and most of all the IP beneficiaries toward an inclusive future where indigenous culture is celebrated.
Through installation art, also known as ‘environments’, there were 3D artworks currently installed in the lobby area that were interpreted by the employees displayed in the Agpaysarigan: Exhibit of Culture, Traditions, and Customs which means together or sama-sama in Filipino.
There were already three (3) artworks currently installed: Tarabangan (bayanihan in Cuyonon), Puyon (coming together in Asi-Bantoanan), and Pegireg (love in Palawano).
Moreover, the FO also launched an installation art contest for employees and IP beneficiaries to provide a platform for both groups to present their interpretation of the national celebration theme as well as to celebrate with the IP beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, there were also several activities conducted by the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) and NCIP MIMAROPA that are being participated by the beneficiaries of the different programs, projects, and services of the agency.
The Agpaysarigan Installation Art Exhibit can be viewed at the DSWD MIMAROPA regional office until October 29, 2021.
