Different chapters of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) in Romblon province hold a simultaneous indignation rally last Friday, March 26, against the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army – National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).
These were held three days before the 52nd founding anniversary of the communist group.
The young KKDAT members toured their respective towns carrying placards with written condemnations of the terrorists’ actions.
KKDAT members also condemn the recent communist attack in Labo, Camarines Norte wherein five police officers were killed in an ambush.
Meanwhile, a youth leader in Odiongan town urged her fellow youth not to be influenced by the propaganda of the terrorist.
“Engaging into terrorism is the beginning of a collapsing future. It cannot give you a good life. It is wrong to put the law in our hands, and It is wrong that all mistakes we see around us need to result in violence in order to correct it. Why won’t this be a challenge for us to study hard, and work hard?”, Pastora Wenadel Joy M Atilano, KKDAT-Odiongan chapter president, told PIA-Romblon in an interview Sunday.
“We only live once. We will only pass through this world once so let us live what is right and right, in the presence of Man and God. It’s nice to think you’re moving into this world Free, and happy,” she added.
Atilano also praised the effort made by the government to curb terrorist groups.
In February of 2019, the Armed Forces of the Philippines declared Romblon province as an Insurgency-Free province that means that the CPP-NPA-NDF and other rebel organizations no longer pose a threat to peace and order in the province.
