Congressman Reynaldo V. Umali urged all heads of regional line agencies and local government units to be more aggressive in proposing projects that will redound to an inclusive growth in the region.
He said this during the review of the FY2019 budget proposals at the Advisory Committee Meeting of the MIMAROPA Regional Development Council (RDC) held recently at the South Wing of the Batasan Pambansa.
In the meeting, the budget proposals of the four RDC standing committees were presented, to wit, Php570.1 million of the Development Administration Committee; Php15.9 billion total proposal of the Economic Development Committee; Php133.1 billion of the Infrastructure Committee; and, Php18 billion proposal of the Social Development Committee.
“This meeting is the best platform for ensuring effective coordination between and among local government units and agencies of government and the House of Representatives which is responsible for ensuring the passage of the Generals Appropriations Act or GAA,” Umali said.
He said that the eight Congressmen of the MIMAROPA region are always there to support and help secure funds for the betterment of all barangay, municipalities and provinces they represent.
He also encouraged RDC members to be more forward-looking to keep up with the developments and latest concerns in peace and security, agribusiness, tourism and the environment.
“Let us all make a difference for this region; we will never make a difference if we recycle past projects,” Umali said.
