Philippine Professional Linkage from Various Disciplines, Inc. launched a Continuing Professional Development Training/Seminar/Workshop on Teaching Strategies with the theme “K-12 Curriculum Teaching Strategies Across Discipline” on September 8-10 at Romblon, Romblon.
The training aims to make the teachers remember what strategy is applicable to the kind of student he has; apply the strategy learned according to the subject; and facilitate absorption of the lesson to the students by means of the strategy.
A total of 467 teacher participants from elementary to tertiary of Romblon and Mindoro attended the said activity.
The program focuses on life-long learning strategies in the k-12 curriculum; skills in preparing appropriate learning materials aligned in the strategies across the curriculum; and demonstration teaching applying in the skills learned in the different teaching strategies.
“We are very fortunate that for the first time, international seminars like this was being held in the locality. We don’t need to travel far just to equip ourselves with the new trends and development in K-12 curriculum”, Mr. Rufino Foz said, the Assistant Division Superintendent.
Four speakers such asDr. Danilo E. Despi, Asst. Regional Director of MIMAROPA; Dr. Elinda A. Cayao, former Vice-President of Academic Affairs of Pamantasang Lungsod ng Maynila;Dr. Erwin R. Ferrer, Education Program Supervisor, Pangasinan I and Dr. Rodney Paul Davis, Associate Professor Troy University, Dolhan, Albana, USA shared their expertise in training workshop.
Organizers of the said program stressed out that educators must always be equip of the new developments and strategies in order have quality life-long learning and for the attainment of K-12 goals.
