Department of Health (DOH) – MIMAROPA (Oriental/Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) today announced that 50 (62.5%) health care facilities including rural and municipal health units in the region are now implementing iClinicSys, a systematic way to manage patient records and generates standardized reporting requirements both at the local and national level.
“These health facilities are now compliant and implementing the system in their respective areas for the purpose of enlisting, profiling and submitting electronic medical record or EMR to Philhealth. Our target is to have all personnel of the remaining 30 (37,5%) RHUs and MHUs to be trained in iClinicSys before the end of the year,” Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo stated.
“Once all health facilities are connected, we will have an improved and speedy access to quality data for the retrieval of patient information, record keeping including administration and referrals,” he emphasized.
Other benefits of the iClinicSys also includes improved health monitoring and reporting of patient’s data over time like vital signs such as blood pressure readings, respiratory rate readings, vaccinations, and identify patients who are scheduled for visits.

The iClinicSys can also help improved ability to support surveillance and management of public health interventions and improved ability to report and analyze health outcomes.
According to Janairo, the iClinicSys supports the functions of a clinic, barangay health station, rural health unit, or other health care facility that is devoted in providing primary health care service to patients in the community.
“It is one of the ehealth solution that supports health information exchange and sharing of data being the electronic medical record system reference model for primary health care facilities and already compliant to PhilHealth’s Primary Care Benefits (PCB). It can be accessed via computer, laptop, tablet and smart phones with internet connection,” he explained.
The province of Palawan has 8 remaining municipalities to be scheduled for iClinicSys orientation and training; Marinduque has 2 municipalities currently undergoing training; Occidental Mindoro with 1; Oriental Mindoro with 2; and Romblon with 15 municipalities more to undergo training.
The iClinic system features Field Health Services Program, Unified Disease Registries, Watching Over Mother Babies (WOMB), Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program of the DSWD and Philippine Health Information Exchange (PHIE).
The iClinicSys Orientation and Training is managed and conducted by the Information Communication and Technology Unit of DOH-MIMAROPA.
