The latest Listahanan of the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Mimaropa is offering new information about the picture of poverty in the region.
Apart from the inclusion of beneficiaries unlisted in the first Listahanan, DSWD Mimaropa Regional Director Wilma Naviamos said there are studies on the impact of social protection programs such Patawid Pamilya Pilipino Program, Sustainable Livelihood Program and PhilHealth.
More than 569,000 households in Mimaropa were assessed under the Listahanan and about 207,863 were identified as poor.
Listahanan has data on women, children, youth, senior citizens, Indigenous People’s and Persons with Disability; health and sanitation; and access to basic needs and social services.
Director Naviamos said the launching of Listahanan 2, scheduled June 30 in Puerto Princesa City, aims to involve local governments and other private institutions in poverty reduction activities.
To become data users of Listahanan, local governments and private instition must be willing to sign a memorandum of agreement with the DSWD Mimaropa ensuring that the information will be used to help poor households identified in the listing. (LP)
