“The regional office has already provided the essential medical assistance, additional doxycycline capsules to local government units to be used as prophylaxis and logistics for specimen collection to the Provincial Department of Health Office (PDOHO) for distribution by emergency personnel in affected communities” ayon kay Janairo sa isang press statement.
“We advise residents to take precautionary measures such taking doxycycline tablets before wading to rice-paddies as waters may be contaminated by urine from infected animals. We continue to provide technical assistance to LGUs in the province including additional prophylaxis in areas with positive cases and supplementary doxycycline capsules were also distributed to evacuation centers and given to evacuees to prevent them from contracting leptospirosis disease.” dagdag ni Janairo.
