Nagsumite ng panukalang batas si Cong. Lord Allan Q. Velasco sa kongreso na nagsusulong na maging state university ang Marinduque State College.

Ayon sa House Bill No. 1231, kung sakaling pumasa ang panukalang ito sa kongreso, tatawagin na ang paaralang ito bilang Marinduque State University (MSU), gayundin ang mga satellite campus nito sa Sta. Cruz, Torrijos at Gasan at mananatali pa ring main campus ang nasa bayan ng Boac.

Nakasaad din sa panukalang-batas na ipagpapatuloy pa rin nila ang pagtuturo ng mga programa na nabibilang sa larangan ng science and technology, education, engineering, agriculture, fisheries, arts and sciences, business administration...

2 Inmates in Mindoro positive of HIV, says DOH

Oriental Mindoro Provincial Jail (OMPJ) Provincial Warden (Ret) Major Romeo U. Delmo, in an interview on August 23, 2017, disclosed that two inmates were tested positive with HIV, one from Puerto Galera and one from Calapan City.

The two inmates discovered that they have an HIV after the DOH MIMAROPA conducted a mass screening activity to inamtes of prisons in Romblon and Oriental Mindoro started last August 22 until Aug 31.

DOLE, RTWPB approve new minimum wage rates in Mimaropa region

More than two years after the issuance of the last minimum wage adjustment under Wage Order No. IV-B-07 and after several consultations/public hearings conducted in the five provinces of the region, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Mimaropa through the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) recently approved the new wage order prescribing new minimum wage rates in the entire region.
