DOH-MIMAROPA provides more bicycles to BHWs

Department of Health (DOH) – MIMAROPA (Oriental/Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) provided additional twenty more bicycles to Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) in the provinces of Occidental Mindoro and Marinduque.

A total of 45 bicycles were already provided for BHWs in MIMAROPA to be used in their delivery of basic health services in far flung communities where transportation is limited and roads are narrow. “These are the only means of transportation that is fast and efficient which can convey our BHWs to reach distant areas timely,” Regional Director Eduardo C. The Taguig City Prosecutor Office recently recommended the filing of criminal charges against a non-government organization (NGO) for spreading malicious information against Hinatuan Mining Corp. (HMC), an affiliate of Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC).

In a three-page resolution, Taguig City Prosecutor Archimedes Manabat found probable cause to indict Yolanda Esguerra, Candy Hidalgo, Edel Garingan and Victor Morillo, officers of Philippines Misereor Partnership, Inc. (PMPI) for cybercrime libel.

As part of its corporate social responsibility to improve the living condition of communities, Coral Bay Nickel Corporation (CBNC) andRio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) -- affiliates of Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) -- have shelled out over PHP2.7 million for 45 iMac desktop computer units, which they donated to various public schools in Palawan province.

Over 25,000 residents gather for feast of the forest celebration in Palawan

An estimated 25,000 residents and visitors of this city trooped early Saturday morning to Sitio Impapay, Barangay Inagawan to commemorate the 26th Pista Y Ang Kagueban by planting trees that are endemic to Palawan.
