The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is keen on collaborating with the National Electrification Administration (NEA) and the electric cooperatives (ECs) under its charge to develop additional micro grid facilities and distributed energy resources (DER) in the country.

NEA Head Executive Assistant Atty. Vicar Loureen Lofranco issued this statement following a three-day workshop on the subject sponsored by the ADB in its headquarters in Mandaluyong City last week.

The strong commitment of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to promote inclusive economic growth in the country is yielding positive results, a Cabinet official said on Tuesday.

PDEA to hire more personnel to boost anti-drug campaign

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has opened its doors for those who want to serve as front liners in the war against illegal drugs through providing employment opportunities.

PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña said the PDEA Academy gears up anew for the recruitment and selection of successful applicants that will comprise the Drug Enforcement Officer Basic Course (DEOBC) Class 2017-11 who will then be hired as drug enforcement officers (DEOs).

Lapeña added that DEOs have an entry level position of Intelligence Officer 1 (IO1), a permanent item with Salary Grade 11.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Tuesday stressed anew his promise to the Filipinos that he would secure lasting peace in Mindanao.
