DTI alerts establishments to comply with SRPs for bottled water

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reminds business establishments, especially the retailers in bus terminals, to comply with the suggested retail prices (SRPs) for bottled water.

As summer is still on and some Filipinos are up to traveling to different destinations by bus, DTI-Consumer Protection Group (CPG) Undersecretary Atty. Teodoro C. Pascua leads the monitoring and enforcement activities on the prices of various brands of bottled water sold in bus terminals.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday led the commissioning of the M/V Amazing Grace, the Philippine Red Cross' first humanitarian vessel, in ceremonies held at the Philippine Navy headquarters in Roxas Blvd.

President Duterte recalled that when the 'Yolanda' tragedy struck the country more than three years ago, emergency responders faced the formidable task of reaching the devastated areas due to insufficient transport facilities and heavily damaged infrastructure.

Pres. Duterte appoints ex-AFP chief Cimatu as DENR secretary

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Armed Forces of the Philippines chief and ambassador Roy Cimatu as the new Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) replacing Gina Lopez whose nomination was rejected by the Commission on Appointments.

"We are confident that Secretary Cimatu shall faithfully serve the interest of the country and the Filipino people in his capacity as the new DENR Secretary," said Palace spokesman Ernesto Abella in a statement.
