President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Tuesday, January 16, announced that he would initiate a review of public works projects that remained unfinished for years.

“So I will review with the Cabinet this one. PhilHealth to implement new premium rates this month

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III announced Friday, January 05, that the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) will raise the premium contributions of its members starting January.

"Magtataas tayo ng (We will raise PhilHealth’s) premium contribution, 0.25 percent, effective January 2018," Duque said during the Clean Forum held at the Manila Hotel.

The health chief described the adjustment as timely, saying PhilHealth has already expanded its benefit packages but has not increased its premium contribution in a while.

Comelec calendar out for May barangay, SK polls

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has released the calendar of activities including the periods of prohibited acts for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) set for May 14.

Comelec Resolution No. 10246 states that the filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) is from April 14 until April 20. The nine-day campaign period will be from May 4 until May 12.

PRRD vows to continue anti-corruption campaign

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday promised to continue his anti-corruption campaign to rid the government of corrupt people particularly those involved in orchestrated public bidding that result in unfinished public works projects.
