Muli na namang binisita ang Romblon ng isang grupong Pranses (French) ngayong July 19-21, 2016 para sa kanilang taunang Solidarity Tour. Ang tour group aybinubuo ng mga batang Pranses na may edad 14 hanggang 20 years old na sumailalim sa isang community immersion para mas mapalago ang pagkakakilala nila sa kaugalian at tradisyong Pilipino.

Ngayong taon, napili nilang tulungan ang Paulino Fetalino Fabon Sr. Memorial School sa Barangay Dapawan, Odiongan, Romblon. Namigay sila ng mga sports equipment tulad ng table tennis racket, badminton racket, baseball at bolang pang-basketball at volleyball.

We cannot deny that some people, especially those who work in the wee hours, rely on energy drinks to keep themselves awake and alert. Does an energy drink have a bad effect on one’s heart?

Based on a study, energy drinks significantly increase heart contraction rates an hour after consumption.

A team of researchers, led by Dr. Jonas Doner from the University of Bonn, Germany studied the effect of energy drinks on the heart through the use of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Their study included 15 healthy men and three healthy women.

More people in rural areas suffer high cholesterol level--survey

Rich people in rural areas have tended to suffer from high cholesterol level more than those living in the urban areas, according to a survey conducted by the Department of Science and Technology's Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI).

Dr. Imelda Angeles-Agdeppa, citing DOST-FNRI survey in 2013, said about 27.3 percent cholesterol level incidence was recorded in rural settings compared with the 24.1 percent in the urban settings.
