Calatrava declared as the first 'drug-cleared' Municipality in Romblon

 Ang munisipalidad ng Calatrava na sa pamumuno ni Mayor Mariet Babera ang kauna-unahang bayan sa lalawigan ng Romblon na na-declare ng gobyerno bilang 'drug-cleared' municipality.

Ayon sa Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, dumaan muna ang 7 Barangay ng Calatrava na binubuo ng Balogo, Linao, Poblacion, Pagsangahan, Pangulo, San Roque, at Talisay sa masusing evaluation na ginawa ng Regional Oversight Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs bago ito ma declare na 'drug-cleared'.

Kasama rin na nag-validate sa mga barangay ang Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), local government units, at ilang stakeholders.

Libre na ang tuition ng mga estudyante sa Romblon State University ngayong first semester ng academic year 2017-2018 ayon sa inilabas na memorandum ng pamunuan ng unibersidad.

Iniuutos sa Memorandum 054, series of 2017 na naka-address sa mga Campus Directors, Deans, at Collecting Officers ng bawat Campus, na i-admit lahat ng enrolling students ngayong first semester ng academic year 2017-2018 ng walang sisingiling tuition fee ang paaralan base na rin sa joint memorandum circular na nilabas ng Commission on Higher Education at Department of Budget and Management.

Driven by their passion and desire to make their time worthwhile this summer, twenty volunteers from across the country who were mostly millennials recently gathered for a three-day outreach program called I am M.A.D. (Making A Difference) Camp in the municipality of Magdiwang, Sibuyan Island, Romblon.

The millennial volunteers consist of old and new ones united to help 50 students of Tomas and Maria Maglaya Memorial School in Magdiwang to develop their innermost potentials and to make a difference in many simple ways starting from themselves to their families, schoolmates, and their community.
